FAQs for students

What clinical disciplines does the CORA Physical Therapy student program support?

Our student program supports PT, PTA, OT, OTA, SLP, and athletic training students.

What can I expect on my first day?

Starting a new clinical experience can feel overwhelming, but don't worry. We've all been there.

Your first day is focused on orientation and getting comfortable in the clinic. You'll meet your Clinical Instructor and team, tour the clinic, set up your system access, and begin learning the clinic workflow.

We don't expect you to treat patients independently on Day 1. Bring your questions, communicate your goals, and focus on getting settled into your new environment.

Will I receive mentorship during my rotation?

Yes. Our Clinical Instructors receive training on student development, coaching, and feedback. Students can expect regular communication, opportunities for reflection, and support throughout their clinical experience.

What are CORA's onboarding requirements?

We accept the background check, immunization, and compliance requirements completed through your academic program.

Once we receive your introduction letter, you'll receive an onboarding link to register with CORA. After your LMS account is created, you'll complete a few onboarding modules to meet company compliance requirements.

What is the Student Foundation Curriculum?

The Student Foundation Curriculum is a collection of educational resources designed to support your learning throughout your rotation. Topics include anatomy, pathology, clinical practice guidelines, protocols, and labs that you can work through with your Clinical Instructor.

How do I get in touch with my Clinical Instructor?

Simple! Email your introduction letter to ClinicalEdExperience@corahealth.com. We'll connect you with your Clinical Instructor and guide you through the onboarding process.

Do you require pelvic health coursework before completing a pelvic health rotation?

Students who wish to participate in internal pelvic health examinations and treatment experiences must complete one of the following:

  • CORA Level 1 and 2 pelvic health courses
  • Herman & Wallace Level 1
  • APTA Level 1

CORA offers discounted registration rates for students interested in completing our Pelvic Health Level 1 and 2 courses, regardless of whether they complete a rotation with us. For additional information, email PTClinicalExcellence@corahealth.com.

What should I do if my clinical experience isn't meeting my expectations?

Clinical rotations can be challenging, and it's normal to feel overwhelmed at times. We encourage students to communicate openly with their Clinical Instructor whenever concerns arise. Many challenges can be resolved through honest discussion and clarification of expectations.

If you need additional support, our team is here to help. We regularly check in with students throughout their rotations and are available to discuss concerns, answer questions, and help identify solutions.

Please contact ClinicalEdExperience@corahealth.com if you need assistance.
