The Referral Specialist at CORA Physical Therapy is responsible for the intake and management of referrals from physicians, attorneys, portal and other referral sources. The main objective of this role is to convert referrals and schedule evaluations through in-clinic and digital health avenues. This role involves performing the referral management process with excellence, scheduling patients, and updating systems to reflect the referral status accurately.

What You'll Do

As a Referral Specialist at CORA, you’ll:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Efficiently and accurately enter referral and patient demographics in intake system
  • Obtain any missing information for the patient, referral or payer information
  • Schedule referrals at the nearest CORA clinic or through telehealth services based on services, mileage from home or work, and/or patient’s preference.
  • Utilize scheduling model efficiency to increase volume of evaluations per clinician to or above standard.
  • Utilize resources appropriate to meeting goals for time to enter, time to contact, time to schedule and days to admit.
  • Communicate with patients to set up initial evaluations and follow-up appointments
  • Communicate with referral sources as needed regarding scheduling or inability to schedule by phone or referral status update form
  • Answer phones for direct calls or clinic phone relay coverage
  • Field online inquiries for eval scheduling, free screens or general inquiry
  • Foster and grow relationships with current and new referral sources
  • Understand and follow all CORA policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor

 

What You’ll Need

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Experience in referral management or services sales
  • Ability to handle high volume and level of stress with a high degree of patience.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in shifting priorities and managing multiple tasks.
