What You’ll Do
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll:
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Import new hires from HR systems and update payroll records for pay changes, tax exemptions, direct deposit, and 401(k) deferrals.
- Execute time and attendance processing and integrate with payroll systems.
- Manage wage garnishments and ensure compliance.
- Assist employees with ESS login issues and maintain timekeeping system access.
- Prepare year-end reporting (W-2, 1095) and reconcile payroll quarterly and annually.
- Submit HSA and dependent care contributions.
- Stay current on wage taxation and state/federal wage laws.
- Support payroll setup for acquisitions and respond promptly to employee inquiries.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all payroll data.
What You’ll Need
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll processing experience; multi-state experience preferred.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with urgency and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High integrity, initiative, and adaptability.
